President Nana Akufo-Addo has described the contributions of the late former first President of the Fourth Republic, Flt Lt. Jerry John Rawlings to the development of Ghana as huge and indicated the readiness of Government to provide him a befitting state burial.
Nana Akufo-Addo expressed his sadness at the unexpected death of the First President of the Fourth Republic, J.J Rawlings.
Consoling the widow, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, the children and family of the former President J.J Rawlings during a condolence visit on Friday, the President said he found it so difficult to accept as true with that the dynamic and active personality complete of power that he knew, had gone to meet his maker.
“Having served his country and contributed significantly to it’s development, his departure has to be the responsibility of the Ghanaian Nation, we are going to be writing volumes and volumes on his contribution to Ghana.”
The President concluded by saying former President J.J Rawlings’ contribution to the development of Ghana will not be forgotten.
